Hello Bookish friends....I wanted to check in to say that my noteworthy news this week is about...me! I finally had my surgery to remove the tumor on my pituitary gland on February 18th. I have had Cushings Disease due to the tumor and if you want to know more just Google it as it is kind of complicated to explain quickly. It went very well and I am home now resting and so grateful for the best team of surgeons at UT Southwestern Dallas. I feel so fortunate to live in a place with wonderful health care.
That is why my posts just stopped...I have had a bit of a rough transition going from hospital to home and have not even been able to read much of anything. I know I was warned this would happen but it has been disappointing nonetheless. Forget about blogging the last two weeks as that was not even an option. The brain fog, extreme fatigue, and not having read anything made that impossible for now. It will take up to a year or more to get my hormone and cortisol medications right and to recover from the multiple back, rib, and hip fractures I've sustained due to the high cortisol levels in my body these last two years. I also struggle with carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands so typing is slow going right now. Hopefully now with the tumor gone I can get physical therapy and recover.
I miss the interaction with everyone and hope to be back slowly over the month of March. I am just now getting back online and reading short blog posts from my fellow bloggers. I am so glad to have your posts to read (especially now that reading whole books is too difficult) and keep me updated about things I'm missing in the book world. Happy reading y'all....I'll be back!
